Our Investigative Philosophy: Open Minds, Critical Eyes
At Scary Paranormal, we advocate for an intellectual approach to alternative research. The world of the unexplained is filled with deliberate hoaxes, cheap jumpscares, and sensationalised media tricks. We believe that filtering out the noise requires applying logical thinking alongside our fascination for the unknown.
Our archives prioritise hard data, geographical patterns, and chronological timelines. By reviewing historical records, matching eyewitness patterns, and using environmental data. We aim to improve the discussion around parapsychology and alternative histories. We do not claim to have all the answers. Instead, we provide a digital laboratory for you to form your own conclusions.

The Scary Paranormal Team
Scary Paranormal is the end product of a 20 year project lead by CJ Kilbride aka Reprobus. And is a true representation of the old saying 'try, try, and try again.' As an 80s baby, CJ like a lot of children of that generation grew up on VHS action and horror movies. Far too young to be watching the likes of Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees and Freddy Krueger, he moved onto wider varieties of horror movies that had paranormal themes. This in itself led to an interest in reading real life paranormal events.
Jump forward to 2007. CJ now known by his gamertag name of Reprobus, was studying Film Production Technology at Staffordshire University. The task they were working on for that semester was a short documentary. Reprobus pitched the idea of a local Witch that was known in his hometown of Stoke-On-Trent named Molly Leigh. His group of friends liked the pitch. They hired out equipment, headed to Stoke-On-Trent and started filming. On a whim they ended up at the Leopard Inn (a haunted pub in Burslem) asking questions about Molly Leigh. Before they knew what was happening, Reprobus had convinced the bar owned to let them explore the haunted 3 floors and the rooms at the back of the building. That was Reprobus' first chance to put every paranormal investigation he had ever read about into action. Nothing strange happened.
They had fun exploring but they didn't see a ghost. So when Reprobus was home a few weeks later. Him and 3 friends went back into the Leopard, convinced the bar owner to let them investigate again. This time under the cover of night and using the lights on their phones. The whole atmosphere was different. Again nothing concrete happened. There was some questionable orb photographs but no ghosts were to be seen.
This was the defining point where Reprobus decided he wanted to turn his paranormal hobby into a career. He had no idea it would take 20 years to make it happen. His first attempt was a blog called Our Haunted Earth. Due to lack of knowledge with websites and blogging this was ambitious but ultimately failed. Then he attempted documenting his friends paranormal experiences on film and there were talks with a friend about making a youtube channel but due to commitments on both their parts. This never got off the ground. Years later Reprobus recorded two episodes of a video podcast called Ye Olde Paranormal Podcast with his friend Chris Ingram. But again due to commitments they both couldn't find the time to make work.
At this point Reprobus took another shot at youtube. Repurposing his Ye Olde Comics channel (another hobby) into what is now known as Scary Paranormal he continually made youtube videos. Sadly due to family life and commitments he just couldn't dedicate enough time to the project to break through Youtubes algorithms. So whilst Scary Paranormals Youtube is still active, it is not a priority at the moment because things had changed in Reprobus' work life.
While making several attempts at getting his paranormal projects off the ground and failing. Reprobus' had been building his skills as a website designer and SEO specialist. Going back to his original idea of the paranormal blog and using the name of his Youtube channel. This Scary Paranormal website was born. But this time Reprobus didn't want to just create a blog. This time he was aiming bigger. This time he wanted to create the worlds biggest paranormal database.
If your reading this or any other post on this website. Thank you. Because you are making that dream come true.
